Join a 3 Days Double Gorilla Trek to Volcanoes National park Rwanda and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Uganda with Lets Go Tours Rwanda. This 3 Days tour entails visiting two different gorilla families one in Rwanda and the other in Uganda for better comparisons on a single trip. Trek one of the 10 gorilla families in Volcanoes Park located in north western Rwanda. You will also trek 1 of the 17 habituated gorilla groups in Bwindi Forest, the premier gorilla destination in the world. Rwanda and Uganda are two top gorilla countries which receive the highest number of travelers from all parts of the world. You will be required to have two gorilla permits for this double gorilla trek. A single gorilla permit in Rwanda costs $1500 while in Uganda each permit costs $700 allowing you to spend an hour with the endangered primates in their natural habitats. The two gorilla national parks also shelter other wild animals and birds which travelers may meet. In addition to gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National park, travelers will visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village (Gorilla Guardian Village) to learn and experience the traditions, norms, customs and beliefs. The other activities to do in Volcanoes Park include golden monkey trekking, bird watching, nature walks, mountain hiking, Bulera & Ruhondo twin lakes, Musanze caves and scenic viewing among others. On the other the gorilla trekking add-ons in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park include forest walking, batwa cultural tours, bird watching and primate trekking among others.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Iby’wacu Visit
You will be picked up by our company representative very early in the morning (4:30am) from either a hotel or airport for a transfer to Volcanoes NP headquarters for morning briefing on the trekking guidelines before taking onto your adventurous expedition. Usually, it takes about 30 minutes to several hours to encounter the mountain gorillas; but once got, enjoy an hour with them before retrieving to the starting point (for Certificates of Participation). After lunch, take a stride to the Iby’wacu Cultural Village; learning more about the Rwandese culture. Dinner and overnight Dinner and overnight at The Garden Place (Budget), Davinci Gorilla Lodge (Midrange), Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury).
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Forest NP
After your morning breakfast, you will set off for Bwindi Forest NP; driving via the Katuna border, take in the beautiful scenery views of the Kigezi Highlands as you head to Lake Bunyonyi – a birders’ paradise. Here you will engage in an amazing canoe ride before proceeding with your drive to Bwindi Forest National park. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Jungle (Budget / Midrange,), Chameleon Hill / Mahogany springs (luxury).
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trek and Departure
Rise early, enjoy your breakfast and assemble at the park offices for morning briefing on the trekking guidelines before embarking on this wonderful expedition through the thick dense canopy forest of Bwindi. Usually, it takes about 30 minutes to several hours to encounter the mountain gorillas; but once got, enjoy an hour with them before retrieving to the starting point (for Certificates of Participation) before retrieving your lodge. Later, hit the road for your return trip to Kigali and with an early arrival, you may engage in an amazing Kigali City Tour; visiting the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site, National Museum and many other exceptional tourist centers within the city before drop off at either a hotel or airport for departure flight.
